Beets are known for their earthy flavour and vibrant pops of colour!  Most commonly used are the red variety of beets, however they also come in striped and yellow varieties. 

Beets are great for brain health and are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds including folate, copper, manganese, and nitrates. 

If you didn’t already know, nitrates are linked to enhanced athletic endurance and efficiency related to cardiorespiratory performance. They also improve blood flow to the frontal lobe of the brain, which is associated with decision making and working memory.
