Coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s a cultural experience! Let’s take a tour around the world through coffee and discover the flavours and methods that make them special.

🇻🇳 Vietnamese Coffee: The coffee is brewed slowly using a phin filter, a small metal drip filter that produces a strong, bold flavour. Mixed with sweetened condensed milk, it creates a rich and creamy coffee with a smooth, velvety finish. The condensed milk provides steady energy from caffeine and healthy fats. If made with commonly used robusta beans, it also contains higher levels of chlorogenic acid, which supports metabolism and gut health.

🇪🇹 Ethiopian Coffee: The birthplace of coffee! Ethiopian coffee is traditionally brewed over an open flame in a jebena, a clay pot with a unique, bulbous shape. The brewing process is a cultural ritual often accompanied by incense and served in small cups. Ethiopian coffee is slow-roasted and brewed, enhancing polyphenols that support heart health and blood sugar balance. Spices used like cardamom or cinnamon may further help stabilize blood sugar.

🇮🇹 Espresso (Italy): Espresso is the foundation of Italian coffee culture, and it’s brewed using an espresso machine—a high-pressure machine that forces hot water through finely ground coffee. The result? A concentrated, flavourful shot of coffee that is served in a small cup. Espresso is the base for other drinks like cappuccinos and lattes. A shot of espresso is rich in chlorogenic acids, which support fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Its high caffeine content boosts alertness and focus without excess acidity.

🇨🇺 Café Cubano (Cuban): Café Cubano is made by brewing a strong espresso shot and then sweetening it with sugar while it brews. This creates a thick, sweet layer of foam on top, known as espuma. The coffee is served in small cups, and it’s typically prepared with a stovetop espresso maker called a Moka pot. The espresso shot in Café Cubano contains antioxidants like polyphenols, which help protect cells from damage and reduce inflammation.

🇹🇷 Turkish Coffee: Turkish coffee is brewed in a cezve, a small, long-handled pot traditionally made of copper. The coffee is brewed with sugar and water, creating a thick, rich brew. The cezve is placed over hot sand or flame for even heating, and the coffee is served unfiltered, leaving a layer of grounds at the bottom. This method retains more antioxidants than drip coffee, helping reduce inflammation, support brain health, and enhance cognitive function.

🇲🇽 Café de Olla (Mexico): Brewed in a clay pot, Café de Olla is rich with flavors of cinnamon and piloncillo (unrefined sugar). The clay pot enhances the flavors, giving the coffee a deeper, earthy taste. This traditional Mexican coffee is often enjoyed with a slice of pan dulce (sweet bread) or a savory snack. Café de Olla offers a blend of antioxidants from cinnamon and piloncillo, which help improve digestion, boost metabolism, regulate blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and provide a caffeine boost for mood and cognitive function.
