Dark chocolate has a high percentage of the unrefined form of chocolate – cacao. Among its many health benefits, dark chocolate is a good source of magnesium, which is a muscle and nervous system relaxant. There are also multiple studies showing that the flavanoids in dark chocolate, which are powerful antioxidant compounds, may help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease.
