Chicken is a complete protein and a great superfood! This makes it one of the top, high quality proteins that you can consume. Chicken contains the nine essential amino acids (the building blocks of protein) that the brain and body requires to work properly.

Since the body does not produce these essential amino acids on its own, you must consume them through food or other supplements. Many plant-derived foods do not contain the same amino acid profile as chicken, making them difficult for the body to digest.

Chicken also contain choline. Diets rich in choline may help protect your brain from the affects of ageing. The nutrient from the B vitamin family is found in foods like chicken, eggs and saltwater fish as well as legumes such as kidney beans.

Researchers at Boston University found people who got plenty of choline in their diets performed better on memory tests and were less likely to show brain changes associated with dementia.
