Moroccan Spiced Turkey Burgers with Feta Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/4 Yellow Onion (finely chopped)
- 4 Garlic (clove, minced)
- 1 tbsp Moroccan Spice Blend
- 1 Egg (whisked)
- 1 1/4 Extra Lean Ground Turkey
- 1/4 Parsley (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
- 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (crumbled)
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 12 ozs Whole Wheat Bun (toasted)
Instructions
- 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2 Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the onion and cook until softened and just starting to brown, about five minutes. Add the garlic and Moroccan spice blend and cook, stirring often, for one minute, until fragrant. Remove from the heat, add the onion mixture to a large bowl, and wipe out the pan.
- 3 Add the whisked egg to the same bowl as the onion mixture. Add the turkey, parsley, and bread crumbs to the same bowl. Mix until combined. Form the mixture into even patties, one per serving.
- 4 Heat the same pan over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for three to four minutes per side. Transfer to the oven and cook for nine to ten minutes or until cooked through.
- 5 Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the yogurt, feta, and lemon juice.
- 6 Spread the feta mixture on the bottom bun and top with the burger. Spoon extra sauce on top of the burger. Close the burger and enjoy!
Notes
- Leftovers: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to three days.
- Serving Size: One serving is one turkey burger with approximately three tbsps of feta sauce.
- Sauce Consistency: Add water to thin out the feta sauce if desired.
- Additional Toppings: Red onion, lettuce, and/or tomato.
