Not only are oranges an amazing source of vitamin C which is essential for boosting the immune system (especially important this time of year), it is also a great source of folate. Adequate levels of folate are essential for brain function and a deficiency in folate can potentially lead to neurological disorders such as depression and cognitive impairment. Oranges are also rich in flavonoids which are shown to improve memory and cognition. Enjoy oranges in my Orange Chicken with Black Rice!
