Watermelon is naturally sweet, juicy and refreshing — perhaps not surprising given that it’s 92% water! It contains only 46 calories per cup, but is packed with vitamins like C and A, as well as disease-fighting phytonutrients including the carotenoid antioxidant lycopene. In addition to giving watermelon its beautiful red colour, lycopene is believed to help reduce cholesterol and blood pressure as well as the the risk of cancer, stroke, diabetes, and even osteoporosis.
