Avocados are one of my favourite fruits (yes, they’re a fruit!) They offer the perfect buttery and creamy texture, making them a delicious addition to any savoury or sweet (you will find a ton on my blog, including this Creamy Avocado Pasta Salad!) Avocados are loaded with healthy fats known as monounsaturated fats – particularly oleic acid, which is beneficial for its anti-inflammatory action. Getting an adequate amount of healthy fats in the diet is important to keep your cells well lubricated, your skin moisturized and your belly satiated after a meal. Not to mention, in a 1 cup (250 mL) serving, there is a whopping 10 g of fibre, making it an amazing detox superfood as it supports elimination.
